All Thursdays in July are booked by sellers eager to try their luck on one day, one rand bidorbuy car auctions.
The bidorbuy sellers seem more and more inclined to risk it all and put their cars on R1, no reserve auctions. The R1, no reserve auction means that the seller has to let go of his – or her – merchandise to the highest bidder, regardless of what the price may be at the end of the auction. It is indeed the buyers’ market!
Car sellers on bidorbuy may choose to offer their vehicle at a fixed price, on an auction starting from what they deem to be an acceptable minimum, or in a classified format, when the final price becomes a matter of negotiation with the interested shoppers. bidorbuy has about 30,000 cars listed for sale, most of them in the classified format.
Every now and then, however, sellers decide to take a gamble and go for a R1, no reserve auction. Thursdays from 9am to about 3pm have been set aside for one day, one rand car auction – and all Thursdays in July have been booked by sellers eager to try their luck.
Last Thursday a new Nissan Micra went under the hammer, and this Thursday it is the 2002 Mercedes CLK’s turn.
