Make your outdoors great

It’s time to escape!

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in 2020, it’s how important it is to get outdoors. Gardens and parks came into their own as people rediscovered the joy of open skies and greenery. Now that summer is here, why not be a bit more adventurous and go exploring? At bidorbuy, we’ve got everything you need to enjoy being outdoors more than ever!

Everything but the kitchen sink

With a bit of planning, you can be just as comfortable when you’re camping as when you’re at home – promise! Okay, you won’t have Wi-Fi, but that just makes it easier to reconnect with nature and with each other.

If you’re hiking, you’ll want to limit what you take – because you have to carry it! Then again, you can fit all sorts of essentials into the latest backpacks – we have a whole range of smaller sizes that are ideal for a day out.

The alternative is a road trip – which means you can pretty much take whatever you want. Don’t forget to download some tunes and take plenty of drinks and snacks. A portable car cooler/refrigerator will keep your fresh stuff fresh for longer, and ensure you always have a cool drink to hand.

Getting comfortable

One you’ve arrived at your chosen camping spot, you’ll need to get everything set up before nightfall – even the simplest of tents get a lot harder to figure out in the dark. Once you’ve put up your home sweet home, it’s time to sit back and relax…

As long as you remembered your folding table and chairs of course! If you didn’t, well, then you’ll need to find a handy rock or tree stump – the perfect place from which to watch someone else braai (let’s be honest, the only thing better than braaiing, is enjoying the mouth-watering aromas of chicken or steak being cooked on the coals for you).

Sleep tight!

The fire has burned low, the owls are calling and the moon is rising – it’s time to turn in for a good night’s rest under the stars. Unzip our selection of sleeping bags – they won’t let you down (see what we did there?).

For things that go bump in the night (always more exciting in the wilderness!), you’ll want a convenient source of instant light so you can get a closer look at any nocturnal visitors. Solar lamps and torches are a great option when you’re off the grid – you can charge them up during the day and you’ll be alright all night.

If you’re more comfortable sleeping in the daytime, all you need is two trees the right distance apart and one of our hammocks. You can even find double hammocks, which come with a built-in excuse for rolling a little bit closer together.

Staycation camping

Of course, you don’t have to go into the wild to enjoy time outdoors. If you have a garden, you can enjoy camping without all the packing and unpacking, or a romantic picnic away from the TV.
Wherever you pitch your tent, there’s one piece of kit you should always keep to hand: a multi-tool – even if the only blade you use is the bottle opener!
